I Wish I’d Thought of That: “Best Of” Fundraising Examples
Presented by: Rachel Muir, CFRE
Ready for eye candy campaigns that make you wish YOU’D thought of that? Buckle up, buttercup! Our special guest Rachel Muir, CFRE is firing up the very best fundraising examples from budgets small and large. This session will inspire and delight you with eye-candy examples and concrete tactics you can implement in your next fundraising campaign. We’ll explore great content, unique thinking and delightful design across donor thank-yous, emails, websites, online advertising, donation pages, videos—and anything else that increases donations!
What makes Rachel so awesome? Well… she’s a recovering Executive Director who has worked every side of the Rubik’s cube that is the nonprofit sector. When she was just 26 years old, Rachel founded Girlstart, a non-profit dedicated to empowering girls in STEM, in the living room of her apartment with $500 and a credit card. Several years later she’d raised over 10 million dollars and was featured on Oprah, CNN, and the Today show. A winner of Oprah Winfrey’s Use Your Life award, Rachel is a three-time finalist for Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year Award, was named “Outstanding Fundraising Executive of the Year” by the Association of Fundraising Professionals, and one of Fast Company Magazine’s “Fast 50″ Champions of Innovation. Rachel is a sought-after speaker, trainer, and nationally recognized nonprofit founder and thought leader.
How to Build a Better Appeal
Presented by: Sarah Sebastian, Director of Brand Communications at Qgiv
Your donors don’t read your appeal letters. At least not right away! In this session, you’ll learn what donors look for before they read your appeal letter and how to draw them in using the items they scan for!
You’ll also learn tips on how to use storytelling, unique points of view, and familiar language to keep your donors engaged with your content.
Bring an appeal letter from your organization that you’d like to improve! We’ll take a few moments to apply best practices from the presentation so you can walk away with notes on how to turn your appeal letter into a donation magnet!
