Here are some ways you can add video\nthank-yous to your toolbox!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Add a video to your donation confirmation page<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Your confirmation page is valuable real estate. Not every\ndonor will open emails you send them, but every donor lands on the confirmation\npage!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Make the most of this part of the donor\u2019s journey by\nembedding a thank-you video on the page. Your video doesn\u2019t need to be long!\nInclude a short thank-you message and a quick statement about what their gift\nis going to achieve. Let them know you\u2019ll email them their gift details and\nthat you\u2019ll keep them up to date on how their donation made a difference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This doesn\u2019t need to be a Hollywood-quality video, by the\nway. Elaborately shot videos have their function, but you can be much more\ncandid here than you would in a marketing video. Even something as simple as a\nstaff member or the development director recording a personal message on their\nlaptop camera is valuable. You could also ask a client or volunteer to make the\nvideo. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To make the most of your video, try to include a few key\nelements in your message:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Donor-centric language that directly connects\nthe donor to the impact they\u2019ll make. Don\u2019t tell the donors what you\u2019ll do with\ntheir money; tell them what THEY\u2019LL accomplish. Take yourself out of the\nequation.<\/li><li>Make eye contact. The goal here is to make this\nmessage feel very personal. You may not have made this video specifically for\none individual donor but making eye contact will make it feel that way!<\/li><li>Include an impact statement. Donors want to know\ntheir gift will be used wisely and will make a difference. Speak to their\nmotivations by telling them how their gift will be used and what it will\naccomplish.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Include videos in your follow-up emails<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Donors want to know how you use their money. That\u2019s why\nfollow-up emails are so important! Showing donors what their money accomplished\nmakes them more likely to support you again in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This type of email lends itself well to video updates.\nShowing their donors their impact by telling a story is powerful. Showing\ndonors their impact with a story <em>and<\/em> a video is even better.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"Thank You!\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/OR0qHEw8Pe0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Like thank-you videos, update videos don\u2019t have to be\nprofessionally shot or edited. They may even be more effective if they aren\u2019t!\nHere are some pointers for your update videos:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Simple amateur videos are fine\u2014just make sure\nyou have a plan when recording one of these videos. Unscripted moments seem\nauthentic and real, but long pauses or awkward moments should be avoided.<\/li><li>Since these videos are easily shot and uploaded,\nchange out the videos on a regular basis. Someone who donates in January\nshouldn\u2019t necessarily receive the same video when they give again in July.<\/li><li>Like the initial thank-you videos, make the\ndonor the hero of the update or story you\u2019re telling. Take yourself out of the\nequation as much as possible. \u201cYou fed this hungry family!\u201d is a much more\ncompelling message than \u201cYou helped us feed this hungry family!\u201d<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Embrace your techy side and create personalized videos<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Do you have recurring donors who give consistently? Do you\nhave mid-level or major donors who deserve a lil\u2019 something extra? Send them a\npersonalized video!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Again, these don\u2019t have to be fancy. Short, personalized\nmessages make a huge impression on donors. Want to know how I know this? Josh\nused <a href=\"https:\/\/www.causevid.com\/\">CauseVid<\/a> to create the video he\nsent to me and other donors who supported his campaign. Our friend Rachel Muir\nloves <a href=\"https:\/\/bombbomb.com\/\">BombBomb<\/a>. Others love sending\npersonal videos through <a href=\"https:\/\/thankview.com\/\">ThankView<\/a>.\nWhatever you decide to use, this is a fantastic option to give that extra\npersonal touch to donors who have gone above and beyond to support your work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Ways to use Qgiv<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Adding videos to your confirmation pages and receipts is\neasy!
