First, you&nbsp;have to&nbsp;figure out if you need&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.qgiv.com\/blog\/text-to-give-vs-text-to-donate-the-complete-guide\/\">text-to-give or text-to-donate<\/a>. Then you&nbsp;have to&nbsp;craft an engaging message that helps you reach your goals, whether that\u2019s getting new donations or recruiting volunteers for an event.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To show you just how easy it can be, we\u2019ve compiled&nbsp;five&nbsp;of our favorite text message&nbsp;fundraising campaigns from real-life nonprofits to inspire you. Check \u2018em&nbsp;out!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>1. Why does this matter? It\u2019s a way to get free publicity for your fundraiser.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Even if this was part of a paid sponsorship, they&nbsp;likely got severely discounted rates because many news outlets will offer remnant (leftover,&nbsp;unsold)&nbsp;&nbsp;space&nbsp;to nonprofits. Make Good Use of\u00a0Social Media<\/strong>\u00a0<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Pilgrim Pines held a successful text fundraising campaign over Labor Day. Well, Pilgrim Pines did a lot of things right with their campaign. It\u2019s also directly related to&nbsp;their&nbsp;organization&nbsp;and&nbsp;will therefore be easy for their supporters to remember.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They also made great use of social media&nbsp;<em>and&nbsp;<\/em>using video to share impact statements from other supporters.&nbsp;Not only does video content get the most reach on social&nbsp;media, but&nbsp;allowing potential supporters to hear from current real-life supporters can make all the difference in securing that donation. When they need to quickly come up with a new&nbsp;idea, they pulled out all the stops to help them reach their goal and support their mission&nbsp;of serving families and children facing a medical crisis.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They created a brand new, month-long virtual event called Be There&nbsp;With&nbsp;Care 2020, and incorporated everything from matching gifts to text fundraising to make sure their clients didn\u2019t lose out during the pandemic. Give Your Donors\u00a0Options\u00a0With\u00a0Mobile Fundraising<\/strong>\u00a0<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Reach Out Honduras has been holding&nbsp;their annual gala for 10 years, but their event had to quickly adapt to a virtual environment like the rest of us did last year. Adding alternate methods of giving\u2014like text fundraising or an&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.qgiv.com\/blog\/online-fundraising-store\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">online store<\/a>\u2014gives your supporters more ways to give. That gives&nbsp;<em>you<\/em>&nbsp;more ways to reach your goals!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Reach Out Honduras also does a great job&nbsp;of using mobile fundraising tools to invite people to their fundraiser. Even better, they know how important it is to give your supporters multiple ways to support you, which is why they added text fundraising to&nbsp;last year\u2019s event!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.qgiv.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/text-fundraising-puget-sound.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"725\" height=\"270\" src=\"https:\/\/www.qgiv.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/text-fundraising-puget-sound.jpg\" alt=\"Down Syndrome Community of Puget Sound incorporated text fundraising into their annual walk with great success. They also placed it front and center, right under the photo gallery that\u2019s sure to draw the eye right to that text fundraising&nbsp;shortcode.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;Down Syndrome Community of Puget Sound doesn\u2019t just use text fundraising for this annual event though. They\u2019ve incorporated text fundraising into&nbsp;their&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.qgiv.com\/blog\/bright-idea-organize-fundraising-campaigns-with-a-fundhub\/\">Fundraising Hubs<\/a>&nbsp;for galas, and into their auction event! Mobile fundraising can be used in a variety of ways to great, great effect (I mean, check out that 130%&nbsp;of goal reached on their fundraising thermometer!)&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Final Thoughts<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Text fundraising is a simple way to make it easier and easier for your supporters to donate.
