LVIM has raised over $2 million through the Swan Derby to help provide affordable healthcare and medical procedures to low-income residents in Polk County, Florida.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.qgiv.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/SwanDerby17_jpg_45fNb-Kc.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"780\" height=\"435\" src=\"https:\/\/www.qgiv.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/SwanDerby17_jpg_45fNb-Kc.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-16856\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.qgiv.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/SwanDerby17_jpg_45fNb-Kc.jpg 780w, https:\/\/www.qgiv.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/SwanDerby17_jpg_45fNb-Kc-300x167.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.qgiv.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/SwanDerby17_jpg_45fNb-Kc-768x428.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 780px) 100vw, 780px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>What makes this fundraiser unique\u2014aside from the racing of swan-shaped paddle boats\u2014is that 100% of LVIM\u2019s fundraising participants raise money. In the average peer-to-peer style fundraiser (fundraisers where individuals organize personal campaigns to collect donations from their peers), <a href=\"https:\/\/www.peertopeerforum.com\/fundraising-guides\/peer-to-peer-fundraising-data\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">80% of participants<\/a> will not raise anything during an event.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To share the strategies behind Swan Derby\u2019s fundraising success, LVIM President and CEO, Alice Koehler, will be joining Qgiv\u2019s Nonprofit Education Manager, Abby Jarvis, in Atlanta to present at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.peertopeerforum.com\/events-online-learning\/conference\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">P2PForum 2022<\/a> February 28th through March 2nd\u2014the largest annual conference focused on the needs of peer-to-peer fundraising professionals.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s an honor to be able to represent our city and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.qgiv.com\/blog\/how-fundraisers-for-lakeland-volunteers-in-medicine-engaged-donors-on-facebook\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">LVIM<\/a> at a national conference on fundraising best practices,\u201d said Koehler.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> \u201cWhen Swan Derby started 15 years ago, no one could have anticipated it would turn into such a beloved community event and successful fundraiser. By creating an easy onboarding experience and actively engaging with our community fundraisers, we\u2019ve created an event that helps sustain our nonprofit.
