They began posting \u201cSave The Date\u201d graphics on social media about a month in advance while simultaneously inviting their supporters to join teams and create their own fundraising pages.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To take it a step further, Boys and Girls Club of San Marcos secured a generous matching opportunity from a local attorney that agreed to match up to $20,000 of donations received on Giving Tuesday.&nbsp; They put a cute spin on the campaign by challenging their donors to \u201cmake Ken pay,\u201d Ken being the local attorney who generously agreed to the match and eventually upped the match to $25,000!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image wp-drop-shadow wp-rounded-corners\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.qgiv.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/BGCSM-2.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.qgiv.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/BGCSM-2.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-30599\" width=\"599\" height=\"745\"\/><\/a><figcaption>Boys and Girls Club of San Marcos worked with a community partner that agreed to match Giving Tuesday donations.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>They utilized their Facebook page to share updates and videos to keep donors aware of how the campaign was doing. On their peer-to-peer event page, they used the video widget to add similar videos to update progress along the way as well, including a video capturing their matching gift donor\u2019s reaction when he heard the final total.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Due to their marketing efforts and community engagement, their peer-to-peer campaign\u2019s matching efforts were a success. They are invested and want to know how well you did. During your peer-to-peer campaign, keep your participants engaged by sending them intentional emails that will motivate, encourage, and inspire.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Share the tangible impacts their dollars will accomplish for your organization along with other key messages before, during, and after your campaign. You can do the same to help spread the word about your event in your community.  In addition to promotion, it\u2019s just as important that you don\u2019t miss opportunities to recognize your top fundraisers and sponsors\u2014especially when it comes to an annual event.
