While it\u2019s difficult to see how&nbsp;Hurricane Ian has affected the lives of so many people, and we don&#8217;t yet know the full aftermath of the storm, there are plenty of ways you can lend a hand to those in need.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you want to contribute to Hurricane Ian relief efforts, here are some options for you:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Support the First Responders&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.redcross.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">American Red Cross<\/a> has mobilized to respond to evacuation orders and send blood products to Florida. If you\u2019re interested in donating to support relief efforts, you can <a href=\"https:\/\/www.redcross.org\/donate\/donation.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">make a gift here<\/a>. If you\u2019d like to help Florida hospitals ensure that they have a stable blood supply, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.redcrossblood.org\/give.html\/find-drive?adobe_mc=MCMID%3D82752436150835068402006278421723143287%7CMCORGID%3D723A22C757518E2C7F000101%2540AdobeOrg%7CTS%3D1664410798\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">find a drive near you<\/a>. &nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hearttoheart.org\/\">Heart to Heart International<\/a> has already deployed an advance response team to Florida and are planning to send another team to help after the storm passes with a medical van. Additionally, they have assembled and are sending thousands of hygiene kits to their partners in Florida.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.salvationarmyusa.org\/usn\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Salvation Army<\/a> is providing food, drinks, shelter, emotional and spiritual care, and other emergency services to hurricane survivors and rescue workers. When donating, 100% of your gift will go toward the disaster relief operation you choose. <a href=\"https:\/\/give.helpsalvationarmy.org\/give\/166081\/#!\/donation\/checkout\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Donate here<\/a> to provide support.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.unicefusa.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">UNICEF USA<\/a> is working on the ground to provide children and families support in the aftermath of Hurricane Ian with safe drinking water, hygiene and sanitation kits, medicine, nutrition and more. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unicefusa.org\/mission\/emergencies\/hurricanes?form=FUNSUJMLZDZ\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Donate here<\/a> to help them make a difference.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cgmahq.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Coast Guard Mutual Assistance (CGMA)<\/a>, the official relief society of the U.S. Coast Guard, provides disaster assistance and emergency financial support for Coast Guard members. Nearly 5,000 Coast Guard men, women, and families call the Tampa and St. Petersburg area home. As they have in countless disasters before, the U.S. Coast Guard will continue to provide search and rescue capabilities, assess the damage done by Hurricane Ian, and ensure ports can be safely reopened for the flow of maritime commerce. <a href=\"https:\/\/secure.qgiv.com\/for\/dire\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Donate here<\/a> to support these heroes as they continue their tireless support of the community.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/irusa.org\/usa\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Islamic Relief USA<\/a> has deployed their Disaster Response Team (DRT), working closely with the Red Cross, FEMA, and emergency first responders on the ground to assist with recovery and relief efforts. They plan to deploy more staff and volunteers to communities in need on Monday, October 3. To ensure that your money is going to the right places, use tools like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.charitynavigator.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Charity Navigator<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.guidestar.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">GuideStar<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/apps.irs.gov\/app\/eos\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">TEOS<\/a> (tax-exempt organization search) to evaluate the legitimacy and impact of the organizations and funds you&#8217;re donating to before you give.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.volunteerflorida.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Volunteer Florida Foundation<\/a> has launched the Florida Disaster Fund as the State of Florida\u2019s official private fund to support communities as they recover from the storm and to aid response and recovery activities. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.volunteerflorida.org\/donatefdf\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Donate here<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.alanaid.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">American Logistics Aid Network (ALAN)<\/a> has activated to send hygiene kits, water, medication, and other humanitarian aid to communities in need of help. You can check out their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.alanaid.org\/operations\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">active logistics needs<\/a> to offer support or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.alanaid.org\/donate\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">donate to support relief efforts<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.globalgiving.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">GlobalGiving<\/a> has launched a Hurricane Ian Relief Fund to help meet emergency needs of people who have been affected by the storm and provide long-term recovery efforts. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.globalgiving.org\/projects\/hurricane-ian-relief-fund\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Donate here<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.spcaflorida.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">SPCA Florida<\/a> has created a relief fund to support the volunteers they\u2019ve deployed from the Florida State Animal Response Coalition to help animals in need. <a href=\"https:\/\/secure.qgiv.com\/for\/hurricaneianrelieffund\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Donate here<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.directrelief.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Direct Relief<\/a> worked hard to put together multiple rapid response shipments of medical aid that were sent to Havana and are sending more in the aftermath of the storm. They&#8217;ve also positioned shipments across Florida before the storm and are continuing to respond to requests for aid. They have also staged hurricane preparedness packs in Georgia, South Carolina, and across the U.S. Gulf Coast in preparation of Hurricane Ian&#8217;s landfall in projected affected areas. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.directrelief.org\/emergency\/hurricane-ian\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Donate here<\/a> to support their response efforts.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/211tampabay.org\/hurricane-ian\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">211 Tampa Bay Cares<\/a> is collecting donations via their Hope Fund to help individuals, families, and seniors in Pinellas County who have been greatly impacted by Hurricane Ian. They&#8217;ve also compiled a long list of resources for residents of Pinellas County and anyone else who wishes to help Tampa Bay residents recover from the devastation of the storm. <a href=\"https:\/\/211tampabay.org\/how-you-can-help\/hope-fund\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Donate here<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The E.W. Scripps Company has local news stations in Fort Myers and Tampa and their <a href=\"https:\/\/scripps.com\/fund\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Scripps Howard Fund<\/a> is raising money to support Hurricane Ian relief efforts. <a href=\"https:\/\/secure.qgiv.com\/for\/newsyhurricanereliefcampaign\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Donate here<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/jfnnj.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Jewish Federation of New Jersey<\/a> has launched a Hurricane Ian Emergency Relief Fund.
