Does Your Organization Have a Shared Understanding of How Fundraising Really Works?

Presented by: Jason Lewis

In his book, The War for Fundraising Talent, Jason Lewis introduces a vivid framework for ensuring that nonprofits have a shared understanding of how fundraising really works. In addition to providing a resource for planning and evaluating fundraising performance, these four planning models address many of the all-too familiar roadblocks that organizations encounter as they cultivate their donors towards greater levels of support. Implemented effectively, these capacity-building tools can become the centerpiece of communication between the development office, the executive suite and the boardroom.

Jason Lewis is on a mission to ensure that organizations have a shared understanding of how fundraising really works and that fundraising professionals are recognized and admired for meaningful work. Whether writing or speaking, Jason challenges the prevailing wisdom about fundraising practices, hiring decisions, and donor behavior. Jason’s first book, The War for Fundraising Talent, is an honest yet hopeful critique of professional fundraising. Jason is the host of The Fundraising Talent Podcast. Every week, Jason and his guest have an honest conversation about what it means to be in one of the sector’s critically important yet least understood roles.

Qgiv Roadmap & Customer Showcase

Presented by: Jennifer Mansfield, Vice President of Customer Experience at Qgiv

Knowing the best uses of Qgiv’s available (and upcoming!) tools helps you raise more money. Jennifer will show you how to find greater success using some of your favorite and recently-released fundraising tools like our FundHub Live feature that’s part of the Mobile Suite.

She’ll also showcase successful strategies from actual Qgiv clients! Observing best practices and unique ideas for donation pages, events, and more will inspire you to make the most of your Qgiv tools.

How to Build a Better Appeal

Presented by: Sarah Sebastian, Director of Brand Communications at Qgiv

Your donors don’t read your appeal letters. At least not right away! In this session, you’ll learn what donors look for before they read your appeal letter and how to draw them in using the items they scan for.

You’ll also learn tips on how to use storytelling, unique points of view, and familiar language to keep your donors engaged with your content.

Bring an appeal letter from your organization that you’d like to improve. We’ll take a few moments to apply best practices from the presentation so you can walk away with notes on how to turn your appeal letter into a donation magnet!
