Why do I need a Merchant Account?
Unless you already have one, you'll need a merchant account to use Qgiv. For clients with existing merchant accounts, Qgiv can be easily configured to work with accounts you already have in place.
A merchant account is a specialized type of account that allows your organization to process funds authorized for distribution by the Credit Card Companies.
If you do not have a merchant account, Qgiv provides you with a merchant account in your organization's name as part of the setup process. Having the account in your organization's name is a critical aspect of online donations. Your own merchant account allows credit card and bank statements to display "Your Organization" instead of a 3rd party payment processor.
Qgiv will take care of all the paperwork and setup and even the ongoing management of the merchant account as part of our services.
