About Rachel Muir

What makes Rachel so awesome? Well…she’s a recovering Executive Director who has worked every side of the Rubik’s cube that is the nonprofit sector. When she was just 26 years old, Rachel founded Girlstart, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering girls in STEM, in the living room of her apartment with $500 and a credit card. Several years later she’d raised over 10 million dollars and was featured on Oprah, CNN, and the Today Show. A winner of Oprah Winfrey’s Use Your Life award, Rachel is a three-time finalist for Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year Award, was named “Outstanding Fundraising Executive of the Year” by the Association of Fundraising Professionals, and one of Fast Company Magazine’s “Fast 50” Champions of Innovation. Rachel is a sought-after speaker, trainer, and nationally recognized nonprofit founder and thought leader.

How to Build a Better Appeal

Presented by: Abby Jarvis, Nonprofit Education Manager

Your donors don’t read your appeal letters. At least not right away! In this session, you’ll learn what donors look for before they read your appeal letter and how to draw them in using the items they scan for.

You’ll also learn tips on how to use storytelling, unique points of view, and familiar language to keep your donors engaged with your content.

Q&A with the Fundraising Lab Speakers

Presented by: Jennifer Mansfield, VP of Customer Experience

Have questions on hosting a virtual event or want to see some tips & tricks on how other nonprofits have successfully transitioned their events? In this live Q&A session, our Fundraising Lab speakers will help guide you through the challenges you’re facing.
